I explored my view of the traditional Indian Widow; a life held by constraints and the rules of their society. Perhaps it is an environment that one can escape...

Here's a look at the process this piece went through from the sketch on the board to the final (minus the red background and yarn):

Red just seemed like the right choice for the background--to bring an intensity; a metaphor for the glare of society that the widow character may be feeling enforced upon her
